Grass-growing, green harvesting. After the grapes have been
stalked they are gently crushed. Then they ferment for a
period of 3 weeks in temperature controlled stainless steel
vats. During the fermentation the juice is mixed with the lees
2 or 3 times a day in order to ensure optimum extraction of
the best tannins and good color from the grapes. The wine is
aged in oak barrels.
Ideally located, Château HAUT PIQUAT produces a fine and
generous good-keeping wine with a deep purple color, a
complex nose of red fruits and vanilla. The aromas are
balanced and harmonious. The nose is confirmed by the
palate. Excellent length.
This wine is excellent with red and white meat, flavored game
and ideal with mature cheese. We suggest that the wine be
drunk at an ambient temperature of 16° to 18°C.
